I am planting a cherry tomato in a 5 gallon bucket today along with a artichoke plant, in separate pots. I havent had much luck in the ground. I got some Miracle Grow soil and will mix it with rabbit dung and regular backyard soil.
I plan on filling the buckets with maybe 4-5 inches of small rocks for good drainage. I am still undecided if I should also poke a few holes in the bottom or not. I do hope this works this time. Any suggestions or warnings about my thinking?

Doesnt look like I will be having artichokes this Summer. I must have waited to long to get it in a pot, it has been drooping, pretty much laying down, since I transplanted it. The tomato looks good though. $2.50 an artichoke is just ridiculous.

Not very good pics taken tonight, should have been in the day. If you look real hard you will see two small maters. I thought these were romas but they are extremely small. |

TADA!!
Grape tomatos, I will never buy this plant again. They are just too small! This is their full size. About half of your thumb. Taste good though. |
